This will include, but is not limited to, all existing asphalt <br />pavement adjacent to all concrete curbing, storm sewer inlets, manholes, sanitary sewer manholes, <br />and all utility valve boxes. <br />This item will include, but not be limited to moving the base material to the boxed -out sections for <br />the proposed paved shoulder, imported select material required to meet the proposed sections on <br />the plans, grading, compaction, prime and tack coat, sawcut and removal of existing materials for <br />driveways and side streets. <br />CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS - Bidders shall have a minimum of three years of experience in the <br />construction of reclaimed asphalt base course. Bidders shall provide a list of five successfully <br />completed full depth reclamation projects within the State of Florida along with contact information <br />for the Owners of those projects, and the completion date for each project. Bidders shall also <br />provide a list of the major equipment that will be used on this project. <br />SUBMITTALS — Submit Mix Designs for Reclaimed Asphalt Base Course and detailed Traffic <br />Control Plan to the County for approval prior to the start of construction. Submittals must be <br />transmitted to the County a minimum of three (3) working days prior to the start of construction. <br />BASE COURSE DESIGN - The Contractor shall review the core data provided for the existing roadway <br />and shall perform testing and/or coring prior to submitting a Bid to verify that the Cold Recycled <br />Bituminous Base Course Mix Design or the Reclaimed Asphalt Base Course Mix Design, as applicable, <br />has a minimum Structural Number (SN) of 1.8 for the total thickness of the finished/completed base <br />course. The Contractor shall be responsible for preparing Mix Designs for the Cold Recycled <br />Bituminous Base Course Mix Design or the Reclaimed Asphalt Base Course Mix Design, as applicable, <br />prior to the start of construction. The Contractor will also be required to test the completed base <br />course and provide test results that verify that the completed base course meets the specified <br />Structural Number. In the event that the completed reclaimed asphalt base does not meet the <br />minimum Structural Number specified, the County may require corrective work on the base course <br />or the placement of additional asphalt surface course. All Mix Design testing/preparation and testing <br />for verification of the Structural Number shall be performed by an independent testing laboratory <br />and all costs associated with the Mix Design preparation and SN verification testing shall be the <br />responsibility of the Contractor. <br />The Testing Laboratory performing Cold Recycled Bituminous Base Course Mix Designs or the <br />Reclaimed Asphalt Base Course Mix Designs and SN verification testing shall be an accredited <br />laboratory that is regularly engaged in asphalt testing including the preparation of Mix Designs for <br />Cold Recycled Bituminous Base Course or Reclaimed Asphalt Base Course, and testing to establish <br />and verify Structural Number for asphalt base course layers. The Contractor shall provide <br />information for proposed testing laboratories and mix designs shall be subject to the approval of <br />the County. <br />1.
