BOOK 96 PAGE 862 <br />Commissioner Bird referred to an item above (see Highlands <br />Drive/FEC crossing item) and advised he would not repeat his <br />comments. <br />Administrator Chandler recalled that when discussions first <br />began on these crossings, the railroad wanted to close four <br />crossings at the same time. It wasn't much of a consolation, but <br />staff was able to get it down to two. He commented that the <br />railroad was worse than DOT in terms of something that's Bottom- <br />line acceptable. <br />Discussion ensued on safety considerations when crossings were <br />closed, and Commissioner Adams was concerned about access to the <br />hospital if there was an accident at Roseland Road. She pointed <br />out the historical importance of that road. <br />Administrator Chandler added that was a part of their <br />negotiations because it was Emergency Services' route to the <br />hospital. <br />Commissioner Adams added that what really galls her is that we <br />subsidize the railroad from tax dollars and then they treat us like <br />this. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Agreement, as recommended by staff in the <br />memorandum. <br />AGREEMENT WILL BE PLACED ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD WHEN RECEIVED <br />WEST REGIONAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />J.J.
