Division 1— General Requirements, IRC -1707 <br />SECTION 01550 - ACCESS ROADS, PARKING AREAS AND USE OF PUBLIC STREETS <br />1.1 GENERAL <br />A. Provide all temporary construction roads, walks and parking areas required during <br />construction and for use of emergency vehicles. Design and maintain temporary roads <br />and parking areas so they are fully usable in all weather conditions. <br />B. Prevent interference with traffic and the OWNER's operations on existing roads. <br />Indemnify and save harmless the OWNER from any expenses caused by CONTRACTOR's <br />operations over these roads. <br />C. Roadways damaged by CONTRACTOR shall be restored to their original condition by the <br />CONTRACTOR subject to approval of the OWNER or ENGINEER. <br />D. Remove temporary roads, walks and parking areas prior to final acceptance and return <br />the ground to its original condition, unless otherwise required by the Contract Docu- <br />ments. <br />1.2 USE OF PUBLIC STREETS <br />The use of public streets and alleys shall be such as to provide a minimum of <br />inconvenience to the public and to other traffic. Any earth or other excavated material <br />spilled from trucks shall be removed immediately by the CONTRACTOR and the streets <br />cleaned to the satisfaction of the Owner. <br />1.3 USE OF PUBLIC STREETS FOR HAUL ROADS <br />A. Prior to construction, the CONTRACTOR shall designate all proposed haul roads to <br />be used during the life of the project. Any earth or other materials spilled from <br />trucks shall be removed by the CONTRACTOR and streets cleaned to the satisfaction <br />of the Owner. He further shall be responsible for repairs to any damages caused by <br />his operations, prior to final payment. <br />B. All trucks carrying earth shall be covered while moving with an appropriate <br />tarpaulin. Should trucks hauling earth fail to cover their loads, the CONTRACTOR <br />will be given two (2) written warnings, after which the CONTRACTOR shall pay a fine <br />of $50 per uncovered truck to the Owner when invoked by the Owner to Owner's <br />Engineer. All cleanup shall be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br />C.
