The Utilities staff is satisfied <br />with the proposed fee increase and feels it is in line with the <br />scope increase. <br />Recommendation <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the contract Amendment as <br />presented. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, that the Board approve the Work <br />Authorization Amendment with Malcolm Pirnie in the <br />amount of $34,880, as recommended by staff. <br />Under discussion, Chairman Adams questioned the engineering <br />services fees if they are based on the 90 -day extension when the <br />contractor wasn't doing any work either. <br />Capital Projects Engineer -Bill McCain explained that there is <br />more than that involved. The Engineering Work Authorization lists <br />the following items as part of the project amendment: <br />PROJECT NAME: West Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant - Expansion to 2.0 MGD <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AMENDMENT <br />1. Provide engineering services during 90 calendar day extension of the construction contract <br />to provide construction administration and resident project representation services. <br />2. Provide engineering services to coordinate revisions to the landscape planting <br />requirements as well as site drainage modifications for the area south of the WWTP. <br />3. Provide engineering services to coordinate and prepare design of effluent discharge piping <br />and skimmer at the wetland project, and the coordination of a new entrance road wearing <br />surface. <br />This Amendment is made with reference to the "Master Agreement for Professional Services" <br />dated July 27, 1993, and specific article numbers and paragraph number which are listed <br />hereunder to describe the scope of services and changes for the amended services. <br />Mr. McCain advised that there was work occurring at the site <br />during that time period, but they were not able to do critical path <br />item work.
