ARTICLE 33 <br />INCENTIVE PAY <br />33.01 An employee of the District who has successfully completed a certified diver's course and <br />self paid the expenses shall be given a pay increase of twelve dollars ($12.00) bi-weekly. <br />33.02 A. An employee of the District who has completed a total of eighty (80) hours in <br />courses approved by the Fire Chief or his designee with the recommendation of the <br />Training Bureau will receive a pay increase of ten dollars ($10.00) bi-weekly. The <br />courses for which the employee seeks educational incentive pay must be approved <br />by the Fire Chief or his designee with the recommendation of the Training Bureau <br />prior to enrollment. There will be a maximum of four (4) eighty -hour blocks per <br />employee. <br />B. The hours involved in the Fire Fighters State Minimum Standards Basic Recruit <br />Training are excluded from this agreement. <br />33.03 The incentives offered in this article (from 33.01 through 33.024) shall be available <br />only for employees who have qualified for the particular incentives by March 24, <br />1994. <br />33.04 The Fire Chief or his designee with the recommendation of the Training Bureau will <br />have sole discretion on filling positions for special operations incentive, must comply <br />with the collective bargaining agreement. The filling of these spots will be determined <br />by the minimum standards associated within each discipline and the availability of <br />rank in each discipline. The employee shall continue to receive the incentive until such <br />time as the employee is no longer qualified for the slot, e.g., the employee promotes to <br />a different rank where no slot is available or loses/drops a required certification, except <br />that the County may remove an incentive for cause. The highest rank which may <br />occupy a slot for special operations is Lieutenant. The Training Bureau with approval <br />of the Fire Chief will establish criteria for sections 33.05 through 33.10. <br />59 <br />
