BOOK 97 PArE 263 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, it has been traditional in this Country to establish <br />Halla of Fame to honor greatness in certain endeavors; and <br />WHEREAS, in keeping with this tradition there has been <br />established "THE FLORIDA AGRICULTURAL HALL OF FAME" to <br />honor those who have contributed so much to this most important <br />Florida industry; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has been honored by having <br />one of these giants of the Florida agricultural industry live and <br />work in Indian River County, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it Proclaimed by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida that Barnette <br />"Barney" E. Greene, Jr. who first started in 1947 with the <br />American Fruit Growers and then went on to Edsall Groves and then <br />Into business for himself and is now in 1998 one of five inductess <br />into The Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame is recognized and <br />thanked by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County and the citizens of Indian River County for his <br />accomplishments which have benefited many over the years. <br />APPROVED and ADOPTED on this _u day of February, 1998. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Fran B. Adams <br />Chairman <br />Mr. Greene expressed his thanks to the Board. <br />APPROVAL OF MINU'T'ES <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions or corrections <br />to the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 23, 1996. <br />Commissioner Eggert requested page 29 of the minutes be <br />corrected to reflect her remarks (in the middle of the page) to <br />read: <br />Commissioner Eggert understood the effect of <br />the resolution, but was concerned that it <br />might be misunderstood by the public because <br />of the wording of the headline in the <br />newspaper as compared to the wording in the <br />body of the deeidnent article. <br />2 <br />February 13, 1996 <br />
