5ooK 97 t PACE 795 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously approved <br />the engineer's final pay request in the amount of <br />$120 as submitted by Masteller and Moler for design <br />and construction services for the South County <br />Regional Repump Station and Force Main, as <br />recommended in the Memorandum. <br />FINAL PAY REQUEST IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />SCHEDULED MEMBRANE REPLACEMENT AND RENEWAL AT <br />SOUTH COUNTY WATER PLANT - CAMP, DRESSER AND McKEE <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of January 27, 1996: <br />DATE: JANUARY 27, 1996 <br />TO: JAMES E. PINT <br />DIRECTOR OF.UTI ; <br />PREPARED WILLIAM F cCAIN <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL R ER <br />BY: DEPAR UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: SCHEDULED MEMBRANE REPLACEMENT AND RENEWAL AT <br />THE SOUTH COUNTY WATER PLANT <br />BACKGROUND <br />The performance of the first stage membrane in skids 1 and 2 has <br />degraded to the point that they need to be replaced. This has been <br />observed by both plant operators and our water plant consultants, <br />Camp, Dresser and McKee, Inc. These membranes were installed in <br />1990 and have served their projected life expectancy. <br />ANALYSIS <br />We have negotiated a work authorization with Camp, Dresser and' <br />McKee, Inc. (CDM), our water plant consultant for services related <br />to the analysis, selection and procurement of replacement <br />membranes. (See attached proposed work authorization) The <br />negotiated price associated with these services is $9,497.00. The <br />purchase price of the membranes is projected at $240,000.00, with <br />staff handling the installation. Funding for this project will be <br />from the membrane -renewal fund, Account No. 471-000-104-006.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the attached work <br />authorization with CDM as presented. <br />68 <br />April 9, 1996 <br />
