U <br />• <br />A <br />'c <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83- 7 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER CQUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT <br />THE STUDY OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, BY THE <br />RESOURCE PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE APPOINTED <br />BY GOVERNOR BOB GRAHAM FOR HUTCHINSON ISLAND BE <br />LIMITED TO THE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY. <br />WHEREAS, the County Commissioners, in Resolution No. <br />82-125 adoptca , No -m - <br />_, ..L,..�... vii �VVClf1UCi 17, 1982, expressed the concerns of <br />the County Commission of Indian River County of being included in <br />2M , <br />a resource planning study that is designated and aimed at a <br />problem with land development practices and growth management <br />policy existing on Hutchinson Island, the boundaries of which are <br />located outside Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council on <br />July 16, 1982, voted to request that the confines of a study by a <br />resource planning and management committee be limited to <br />Hutchinson Island located solely in Martin and St. Lucie <br />Counties; and <br />WHEREAS, the letter from Governor Bob Graham appointing <br />representatives to the resource planning and management committee <br />for Hutchinson Island identified as one of the potential serious <br />problems in the Hutchinson Island area the need to evacuate the <br />Island in the event of a natural or radiological emergency; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Commission strongly maintains that <br />Indian River County is acting responsibly in enacting its current <br />Comprehensive Plan and in administering land use controls for <br />Indian River County and particularly the Barrier Island and <br />strenuously objects to any implication for the need to designate <br />the Barrier Island in Indian River County as part of the study of <br />the resource planning and management committee for Hutchinson <br />Island other than for the purposes of evaluating the transporta- <br />tion system within Indian River County and its relationship to the <br />need to evacuate Hutchinson Island in the event of a natural or <br />radiological emergency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1.
