RESOLUTION NO. 83- 9 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, CLARIFYING INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY'S DESIRE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE <br />j OF FLORIDA "SAVE OUR COAST" PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has recognized the need to <br />1 acquire and preserve for recreational purposes beachfront land on <br />the Atlantic nepan; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has called for a referendum <br />of qualified voters of the County on the question of whether to <br />issue up to $5,000,000 in general obligation bonds to be used for <br />the purchase of beachfront property on the Atlantic Ocean, and <br />WHEREAS, the voters of Indian River County approved the <br />issuance of the bonds and the County Commission subs-quently <br />adopted a resolution authorizing the issuance of the bonds, and <br />WHEREAS, the bond issue has been validated by the <br />Circuit Court of the 19th Judicial Circuit with an appeal period <br />to expire on January 27, 1983, and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County now desires to participate <br />in the State of Florida "Save Our Coast" Program to maximize the <br />resources of the County and the State in a cooperative manner and <br />further desires to define the extent to which the County is <br />willing to parti.cipate. <br />NOW, THI:R[i,FORE, IiE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The funds from the Indian River County $5,000,000 <br />beach bond issue are anticipated to be available in early <br />February, 1983. <br />2. Indian River County desires to participate with the <br />State in the purchase of the "Walker" and "Nutt" properties <br />described in Attachment "A" hereto to the extent of one-third <br />(1/3) of. the State appraised value Nfuvided Lhe County and State <br />can reach a suitable management and operation agreement and <br />provided the respective property owners are willing to sell the <br />property at a price satisfactory to Indian River County. <br />3. Indian River County will develop the property as <br />County, State and Federal funds become available as needed to <br />
