CHANDLER <br />- <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: <br />TERRANCE G. PINTO' <br />DIRECTOR OF UTIL RVICES <br />PREPARED <br />JAMES D. CHASTA <br />AND STAFFED <br />MANAGER OF ASSE NT PROJECTS <br />BY: <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: <br />WATER EXPANSION PLAN - PHASE IV <br />RESOLUTION IV - FINAL ASSESSMENT <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -93 -32 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />On January 10, 1995, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />Resolution III, No. 95-09 for the preliminary assessment roll on <br />the above -referenced project. Construction of the project has been <br />completed. Customer connections have begun, and we request the <br />Board of County Commissioners, approval of the final assessment <br />roll. (See attached minutes and Resolution IV.) <br />ANALYSIS <br />At the January 10, 1995 public hearing, the total estimated project <br />cost of $1,804,740.12, which included a non -assessed Master Plan - <br />transmission main at an estimated cost of $320,252.75, was approved <br />by the Board of County Commissioners. The estimated preliminary <br />assessment was $1,484,487.37, with an estimated assessment cost of <br />$0.149617 per square foot. The total final project cost is <br />$1,680,744.04, less $395,905.71, a non -assessed transmission main <br />cost and a non -assessed portion of engineering/ inspection fees, <br />which equates to a final assessment cost of $1,284,838.33 and a <br />final cost of $0.130417 (rounded) per square foot of property <br />assessed. (See -attached.) The final assessment is $0.0192 per <br />square foot less than the preliminary assessment. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the•Depirtment of Utility -Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the adoption of Resolution <br />IV, which is attached. <br />74 <br />MAY 79 1996 <br />
