Redlands Christian Migrant Association, Inc. (RCMA) <br />School Readiness Match (SRMAT) <br />Grant: $50,000 <br />Funds Used: $50,000 <br />Children Served: 17 <br />Focus Area: Early Childhood Development <br />Program Description: This program is designed to positively impact the lives of farmworker and <br />rural poor families of the ALICE population by providing high quality child care, kindergarten <br />readiness activities and family support services that empower parents to become leaders in <br />their children's education. <br />1. Outcome #1: Children who meet ALICE income levels will be enrolled at high quality <br />childcare centers. <br />• Sixteen (16) children were enrolled through this quarter <br />° 10 children enrolled at RCMA centers; 1 child dropped within 10 days of <br />enrollment <br />° 6 children enrolled at Childcare Resources of Indian River <br />Both agencies continue to recruit and maintain a wait list as applicable in order <br />to enroll children as eligible family apply. <br />2. Outcome #2: 100% children will be screened with the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) <br />to determine whether they have any developmental issues to be addressed. <br />At RCMA Whispering Pines CDC 9 children received ASQ screenings within 45 days. One <br />(1) of the children dropped within 10 days of enrollment. <br />° All the children passed and none needed to be referred out. However, there are <br />Individualized Learning Plans in place for children with concerns within one or <br />two domains that did not meet the requirement to be referred. <br />Six (6) children enrolled at Childcare Resources site received ASQ screenings within 30 <br />days of their enrollment/recertification. <br />° 5 passed and 1 scored within the area of concern. The child with concerns is <br />currently receiving therapies. Individualized teaching practices have been <br />implemented. <br />3. Outcome #3: Children receive vision and hearing screenings within 45 days of enrollment <br />and referred for services if needed. <br />Nine of the 10 children enrolled at RCMA received hearing and vision screenings are up <br />to date with their Physical and Immunization. One of the children dropped within 10 <br />177 <br />
