of <br />11 /10/86(1111)LEGAL(Brim) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 86- 102 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AND APPOINTING THE <br />MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY TOURIST <br />DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, PURSUANT TO SECTION <br />125.0104, FLORIDA STATUTES; INDICATING <br />THE INTENTION OF THE COUNTY TO CONSIDER <br />THE ENACTMENT OF AN ORDINANCE LEVYING <br />AND IMPOSING A TOURIST DEVELOPMENT TAX; <br />ESTABLISHING THE DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED <br />BY THE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL; AND <br />ESTABLISHING THE TIME WITHIN WHICH SAID <br />COUNCIL IS TO PERFORM SUCH DUTIES. <br />WHEREAS, Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes, the <br />"Local Option Tourist Development Act" authorizes any County <br />in this State to levy and impose a tourist development tax <br />on the exercise within its boundaries of the taxable <br />privilege of renting, leasing, or letting for consideration <br />any living quarters or accommodations in any hotel, <br />apartment hotel, motel, rooming house, mobile home park, <br />recreational vehicle park, or condominium for a term of six <br />(6) months or less; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County hereby indicates its intention to <br />consider the enactment of an ordinance levying and imposing <br />a one percent (1%) or two percent (2%) tourist development <br />tax; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes, <br />requires that at least sixty (60) days prior to the <br />enactment of an ordinance levying a tourist development tax, <br />the governing Board of the County shall adopt a resolution <br />establishing and appointing the members of a tourist <br />development council; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />1. The foregoing recitals are affirmed and <br />ratified in their entirety. <br />I <br />
