Any material specified by a reference to the number, symbol, or title of a <br />specific standard, such as commercial standards, a Federal specification, a <br />trade association standard, or ether similar standard shall comply with the <br />rwitl reMenfc in fho latest e—sinn the— F n.=..end . c <br />i r. �..,k 1 „�,.— and any A„�GsaumanL VI <br />supplement thereto in effect on the date of the Invitation for Bids, except as <br />limited to type, class, or grade or modified in such reference. <br />B. The standards referred to, except as modified in the Specifications, shall <br />have full force and effect as through printed in the Specifications, These <br />standards are not furnished to Bidders for the reason that the Manufacturers <br />and Trades involved are assumed to be familiar with their requirements. The <br />Architect will furnish, upon request, information as to how copies of the <br />Standards referred to may be obtained, <br />C. It is the intention of the various Divisions of the Specifications and Sections <br />thereto, to require that all materials be used in the manner intended by the <br />manufacturer, and that is work be performed by the standaris adopted by <br />appropriate trade associations. To this objective, the following requirements <br />shall be accepted as though incorporated into each Division and Section <br />unless specifically excepted by the Contract Documents: <br />1) Where a particular system; product, material or service is snenified. <br />the applicable current standard specifications or recommendations of <br />the manufacturer are thereby incorporated. <br />zj Where a particular operation is required to work the materials <br />specified, the applicable currant standard specifications of practice <br />of the trade Association ASTM Standards, Federal Specifications, <br />American Standards, Commercial Standards, and Simplified Practice <br />Recommendations are hereby incorporated. <br />D. Wherever in these Specifications, reference is made to a manufacturer's <br />printed directions or specifications, for materials or workmanship, a copy of <br />such directions or specifications shall be on file in the Contractor's Field <br />Office in the form of iiterature, brochures or handbooks for each reference. <br />A. Methods - Compaction tests (if required) shall be performed in accordance <br />with AASHT0 T-180. <br />B. Field Density Tests on samples of in-place material as follows: <br />Non -Structural Fills - at Feast 95% of maximum dry density. <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />
