4a <br />C> <br />will be based upon hourly rates and actual materials cost <br />to the County. The labor rates will be supplied to the <br />Contractor prior to beginning work under this Contract. <br />if the Contractor does not pay the invoice as presented <br />by the County, the County reserves the right to withhold <br />that amount from the contractor on the Final Pay for this <br />Contract. <br />3.06 SIDEWALK, CONCRETE DRIVEWAY, CURB, AND COMBINED GUTTER <br />REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT <br />A. SURFACE PREPARATION: <br />I. Remove loose material from the compacted <br />subbase surface immediately before placing <br />concrete. <br />2. Proof -roll prepared subbase surface to check <br />for unstable areas and the need for additional <br />compaction. Do not begin paving work until <br />such conditions have been corrected and are <br />ready to receive ,paving. comply with <br />requirements of FDOT Section 230, Paragraph <br />230-6. <br />B. CONCRETE PLACEMENT: <br />I.. Do not place concrete until subbase and forms <br />have been checked for line and grade. Moisten <br />if required to provide a uniform dampened <br />condition at the time concrete is placed. Do <br />not place concrete around manholes or other <br />structures until they are completed to <br />required finish elevation and alignment... All <br />concrete driveways shall be FDOT Class 1 and a <br />minimum of 6 inches thick with wire or fiber <br />mesh reinforcement. All sidewalks shall be a <br />minimum of 4 inches thick, shall be sawcut <br />every 5 feet, and shall have an expansion <br />joint every 30 feet. <br />2. Place concrete using methods which prevent <br />segregation of the mix. Consolidate concrete <br />along the face of forms and adjacent to <br />transverse joints with an internal vibrator. <br />Keep vibrator away from joint assemblies, <br />reinforcement, or side forms. Use only <br />square --faced shovels for hand -spreading and <br />consolidation. Consolidate with care to <br />prevent dislocation of reinforcing, dowels, <br />and joint devices. Do not use vibrators to <br />push or move concrete in forms or chute. <br />02576-7 <br />
