Sheriff's Administration Building HVAC Analysis <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 6/10/96: <br />TO: James *_handler <br />County Administrator <br />THRU: H.T. "Sonny" Dean, Director— June 10, 1996 <br />Department of General Services <br />FROM: nn Williams, Superintendent <br />Buildings & Grounds <br />SUBJECT: Sheriff's Administration HVAC Analysis <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Funds were included in the Fiscal Year 95-96 Buildings & <br />Grounds Budget to review the HVAC system at the Indian River County <br />Sheriff's Administration Building. This is in response to indoor <br />air quality complaints from some staff members working in the <br />building. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />Dow Howell Gilmore is presently under contract with the County <br />for design services in relation to the HVAC renovation and space <br />analysis at the Indian River County Administration Building. Dow <br />Howell Gilmore provided a proposal for the HVAC review at the <br />Sheriff's Administration Building in the amount of $6,000. The <br />scope of services as outlined in the proposal has been developed by <br />Dow Howell Gilmore and staff after discussions concerning the <br />building, systems and the type complaints received. This work will <br />be completed under the terms of the original contract and the <br />supplemental proposal provided for this work. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING: <br />Staff recommends approval of the addendum to Dow Howell <br />Gilmore contract to include the HVAC review of the Sheriff's <br />Administration Building. Funding is available in Buildings & <br />Grounds Account 001-220-519-033.19, Other Professional Services. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the addendum to Dow Howell Gilmore contract to <br />include the HVAC review of the Sheriff's <br />Administration Building, as recommended by staff. <br />CONTRACT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />15 <br />JUNE 189 1996 <br />98 PACE379 <br />
