Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final <br />Indian River County regarding water conservation. <br />July 11, 2023 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Moss, seconded by Commissioner <br />Flescher, to approve staff's recommendation. The motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Earman, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner Flescher, Commissioner <br />Loar. and Commissioner Moss <br />H. COUNTY ATTORNEY MATTERS <br />13.A. 23-0568 County Attorney Employment Contract <br />Recommended Action: The County Attorney recommends that the Board approve the proposed County <br />Attorney Employment Agreement with Mr. Bill DeBraal. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Employment Agreement <br />County Attorney Dylan Reingold announced that during the Board's meeting on June <br />20, 2023, the decision was made to appoint Bill DeBraal as the new County Attorney <br />following Attorney Reingold's departure. He stated a contract had been negotiated <br />for Mr. DeBraal and was available for Board approval, which was largely in line with <br />his current agreement. <br />There was no further discussion on this Item. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Loar, seconded by Commissioner Flescher, <br />to approve staff's recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Earman, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner Flescher, Commissioner <br />Loar, and Commissioner Moss <br />13.B. 23-0570 Deputy County Attorney <br />Recommended action: The County Attorney recommends that the Board consent to promoting Susan J. <br />Prado to the Deputy County Attorney position upon Mr. DeBraal, the current Deputy <br />County Attorney, becoming County Attorney. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />County Attorney Dylan Reingold stated that the recent appointment of Bill DeBraal as <br />the new County Attorney created an opportunity to fill the Deputy County Attorney <br />position. It was the opinion of the current and future County Attorneys, Dylan <br />Reingold and Bill DeBraal, that Susan Prado would be a suitable candidate for the <br />role. As per the County Code, the County Attorney must receive the advice and <br />consent of the Board in hiring a Deputy County Attorney.
