Workplace Violence. AM -905.1 <br />Events occurring around the Country and in our own state indicate <br />the need -for this policy. <br />Use of Grant Funds, AM -906.1 <br />During the County's annual audit, it was recommended by the <br />Auditors that the County have a written policy concerning the <br />expenditure of grant funds for political purposes. The County <br />Attorney's office proposes this wording. <br />Vehicle Guidelines. AM -1000.7 <br />Wording is deleted so policy is in compliance with Fair Labor <br />Standards Act. <br />Incident/Accident Reporting. AM -1000.10 <br />Authorization form is being revised to agree with policy as <br />approved by Board effective October 1, 1995. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the <br />new and revised policies to the Administrative Policy Manual. <br />Personnel Director Ron Baker advised that the revisions are <br />administrative changes to bring the policy manual into compliance <br />with either Commission actions or Federal law, and as recommended <br />by the County Attorney's•office. <br />Administrator Chandler pointed out that on page 37 (page 2 of <br />2, second paragraph, on subject of Workplace Violence) wherever the <br />word "search" is used, the appropriate form of "inspect" will be <br />substituted. <br />Director Baker specified that County Attorney Vitunac had <br />suggested the change, and Vice Chairman Eggert remarked it sounded <br />less threatening. <br />Commissioner Bird pointed out that there has to be reason for <br />an inspection, and Director Baker agreed, adding that it must be <br />conducted by a sworn police officer. <br />SECTION NUMBER DATE EFFECTIVE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE pERSONNEL AM -905.1 <br />POLICY <br />MANUAL SUBJECT PAGE <br />WORKPLACE VIOLENCE 2 OF 2 <br />25 <br />July 9, 1996 <br />BOOK P�,G. <br />
