j 8. INTERPRETATION OF TETE APPROXIMATE OUANTITIE ;. The Bidder's attention is called to the fact that any estimate of quantities of work to be done and materials to be furnished under the Specifications as shown on the Bid Schedule, or elsewhere, is approximate only and not guaranteed. The owner does not assume any responsibility that the final quantities shall remain in strict accordance with the estimated quantities, nor shall the Contractor plead misunderstanding or deception because of such estimate of quantities or of the character, location of the work, or other conditions pertaining thereto. 9. EAMILIARITY WITH LAWS The Bidder is assumed to be familiar with and shall comply with all Federal, State and Local taws, ordinances, rules, codes, and regulations that may affect the work. Ignorance on the part of the Bidder will in no way relieve him from the responsibility of compliance therewith. All work and materials shall comply with those laws. 10. _QQMM N EMW1i .AND CUMPLFTIC)N OF WORK: The Contractor will be required to commence work under this Contract within twenty (20) calendar days after the date of receipt by him of the Notice to Proceed, and to complete the work ready for use not more than one hundred twenty (120) calendar days from and after the starting date established in the notice to proceed. The time stated for completion shall include final clean-up of the premises. Tlly IS OF THE ESSENCE. Working days are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding Saturday and Sunday and County Holidays. The hours will be from 7 AM to 7 PM. No work shall commence before 7 AM or continue after 7 PM. County Holidays are: New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Working on these days will not be permitted without prior written permission and approval from the Public Works Director. No Saturday or Sunday work will be permitted except as authorized by the Public Works Director in writing 48 hours in advance. i If the Contractor fails to complete the requirements of General Condition 6, AWARD REJECTION OF BIDS, then additional time in calendar days required to correctly complete the documents will be deducted from the Contract Time in working days specified above. 11. INSURANCE - GENERAL: Contractor shall not commence work under this contract until he has obtained all insurance required under this Section and such insurance has been approved by the County, nor shall the Contractor allow any Subcontractor to commence work on his subcontract until all similar insurance required of the Subcontractor has been so obtained and approved. A. Insurance Requirements 1) Worker's Comep nsation - to meet statutory limits in compliance with the Worker's Compensation Law of Florida. This policy must include Employer Liability with a limit $100,000 for each accident, $500,000 disease (policy limit) and $100,000 disease (each employee). i_ GC -3
