F. Records of extra work done, if any, shall be reviewed at the end of each day by the <br />Contractor or his representative and at the discretion of the Engineer, duplicate copies <br />I of accepted records made and signed by both Contractor or his representative and the <br />Engineer, and one copy retained by each. <br />1 G. Claim of payment for extra work shall be submitted by the Contractor upon certified <br />statement supported by receipted bills. Such statements shall b'; submitted for the <br />current contract payment for the month in which the work was done. No claim for <br />extra work shall be allowed unless the same was ordered, in writing, as aforesaid and <br />the claim presented at the time of the first estimate after the work is completed. <br />H. The Owner may, at any time by a written order and without notice to the sureties, <br />require the omission of such Contract work as it may find necessary or desirable. All <br />work so ordered must be omitted by the Contractor. The amount by which the <br />Contract price shall be reduced shall be determined as follows: <br />I . By such applicable unit prices, if any, as are set forth in the Contract; or <br />2. By the appropriate lump sum price set for the in the Contract; or <br />3. By the reasonable and fair estimated cost of such omitted work as determined <br />by the Engineer and approved by the Owner. <br />16. RRE$TOKATIQN AND CLEAN-UP: The Contractor shall protect all private and public <br />property from damage as a result of work under ihL Contract. All damage as a result of work <br />under this Contract shall be restored to the original or better condition as approved by the <br />Engineer, at no additional cost to the Owner. The Contractor shall provide all safety <br />precautions necessary to prevent damage and/or injury to any person or property. Public <br />health and safety consideration will exceed all others. <br />The Contractor will keep the site(s) orderly during construction and will leave the site(s) clean <br />prior to final acceptance, all in a manner as approved by the Engineer. <br />17. WORK BY OTHERS: County crews and/or other Contractors may be working on the project <br />site(s) simultaneously within any work area. The Contractor shall cooperate and coordinate <br />his work with all others. <br />The Contractor shall coordinate his work such that there will be the least amount of <br />interference and/or interruption of utilities, systems, i.e., facilities. <br />18. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORK: The Engineer or his representative <br />will visit the site from time to time to observe the progress and quality of the work. The <br />Engineer has the authority to disapprove or reject work which is defective. Such work shall <br />be removed and replaced or repaired in a manner satisfactory to the Engineer. Until defective <br />work is satisfactorily corrected, the Engineer will assign a value of the work and retain that <br />from any payments that may be due the Contractor. <br />GC -7
