40 <br />I <br />May 25, 1999 <br />C Item of Payment <br />Payment for the work specified in this item shall be made under: <br />i <br />Maintenance of Traffic Lump Sum <br />I <br />MQBL RATION <br />The work specified in this section shall conform to Section 101 of the Latest Edition of the Florida <br />Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. <br />Item of Payment <br />i <br />Payment for the work specified in this item shall be made under: <br />Mobilization Lump Sum <br />EROSION AND WATER PO L ]TION CONTRQL <br />The Contractor shall install erosion and water pollution control methods in accordance with I;DOT Indexi <br />100, 102, 103 and 104, Standard Specifications Section 104, and all permit requirements. The Contractor <br />is responsible for meeting appropriate federal, state, and local regulations and water quality standards, such <br />as turbidity. All disturbed areas will be replanted with approved vegetation cover (either final or temporary) <br />within 30 days of final grading. <br />I <br />1. Preconstruction Conference: At the preconstruction conference the Contractor shall present, in <br />written form, his plans and schedules for prevention, control, and abatement of erosion and water <br />pollution. <br />2. Ditches, Streams and Canals: Staked and floating turbidity barriers shall be installed in all permanent <br />water course in a manner so as not to act as a damn. Barriers shall be located at distance of no <br />greater than 25 feet downstream from the last point of construction. <br />3. Silt Fences: Silt fences shall be installed to prevent silt and erosion from leaving the project limits <br />particularly adjacent to wetlands, roadside ditches or existing bodies of water. <br />4. Storm Sewer System: T he Contractor shall protect the storm sewer system from erosion and <br />sedimentation during construction. This may include the use of baled hay, silt fences or any other <br />method approved by the ENGINEER. All such costs associated with this shall be included in the <br />unit cost of storm sewer system. Should any constructed item be damaged due to erosion or <br />SP -6
