The existing system component's which need replacement are at least <br />five (5) years old with some components still in use from original install. The <br />system needs a refresh in order to ensure continued operations. The <br />accompanying quote details all components that are included in this request. <br />9. Describe why your county, group of counties or region will not be able to <br />complete this project without this grant funding. <br />A comparison of legacy 911 costs and NG 911 costs indicates at least a 35% <br />increase in costs. Additionally, the .40 monthly fee in Florida is one of the <br />lowest in the country. Grant funds are needed to implement and sustain these <br />NG projects. Multiple NG projects in the region and state are already <br />earmarked, taking a direct toll on 9-1-1 budgets.
