0 <br />1. Prior to all work of this section, carefully in- <br />spect the installed work of all other trades and <br />verify that all such work is completed to the <br />point where this installation may properly <br />commence. <br />2. Verify that forms may be constructed in <br />accordance with all pertinent codes and <br />regulations, the referenced standards, and the <br />original design. <br />3. Treat underlying soil to prevent vegetation <br />growth and insect infestation. <br />B. Discrepancies; <br />1. In the event of discrepancy, immediately notify <br />the Engineer. <br />2. Do not proceed with installation in areas of <br />discrepancy until all such discrepancies have <br />been fully resolved. <br />3.02 CONSTRUCTION OF FORMS: <br />A. General: <br />1. Construct all required forms to be substantial, <br />sufficiently tight to prevent leakage of mortar, <br />and able to withstand pressures without exces- <br />sive deflection when filled with wet concrete. <br />8. Embedded items: <br />1. Set all required steel frames, angles, grilles, <br />bolts, inserts, and other such items required to <br />be anchored in the concrete before the concrete <br />is placed. <br />C. Bracing: <br />1. Properly brace and tie the forms together so as <br />to maintain position and shape and to ensure <br />safety to personnel.. <br />2. Construct all bracing and supporting members of <br />ample size and strength to safely carry, without <br />excessive deflection, all dead and live loads to <br />which they may be subjected. <br />3. Space the forma tha proper ui3tii. Y"Ir.:b it NEi Y'L and <br />securely tie them together, using metal spreader <br />ties that vie positive tieing and accurate <br />spreading. <br />3.03 RE -USE OF FORMS <br />A. General: <br />1. Re -use of forms shall be subject to advance <br />written approval of the Engineer. <br />B. Requirements: <br />1. Except as specifically approved in advance by <br />the Engineer, re -use of forms shall in no way <br />delay or change the schedule of placement of <br />concrete from the schedule obtainable if all <br />forms were new. <br />U31U0-2 <br />
