40 <br />S <br />b. Floated Finish: After concrete has been placed, <br />struck off, consolidated and leveled, concrete <br />shall not be worked further until water sheen has <br />disappeared and/or when mix has stiffened <br />sufficiently to permit proper operations of a <br />power driven float. Consolidate with power <br />driven float, check trueness of surface, bill low <br />spots and cut down high spots to achieve Class B <br />toleranceā Then, re -float to uniform, smooth, <br />granular texture. <br />C. Troweled Finish: Finish same as above for <br />floated finish and in addition, steel trowel the <br />surface by hand to produce a smooth, glassy, <br />impervious surface free of trowel marks to a <br />Class A tolerance, on surfaces intended to <br />support floor coverings. Defects of sufficient <br />magnitude to show through the floor covering <br />shall be removed by grinding.. <br />d. Broom Finish: Finish same as above for floated <br />finish to a Class B tolerance and then draw a <br />broom or burlap belt across surface transversely. <br />e. Non -Slip Finish: Surface shall be given a "dry <br />shake" application, as specified in ACI 301, of <br />crushed ceramically bonded aluminum oxide <br />abrasive particles. The rate of application of <br />such material shall be not less than 25 lb. per <br />100 sq. ft. <br />3. Finishes_ - Unspecified <br />When type of finish is not specified, the following <br />shall be applicable. <br />a. Scratched Finish: For surfaces to receive bonded <br />cementitious application, i.e. ceramic tile, etc. <br />Refer to drawings for locations of tile areas. <br />b. Troweled Finish: For surfaces intended as smooth <br />walking surfaces or for receipt of floor <br />covarinan <br />C. Broom Finish: For exterior walks, loggias, curbs <br />and where indicated on drawings. <br />d. Son -Slip Finish:- Exterior platforms, steps, <br />stairways, landings, and ramps. <br />5. S ecific Finish Locations <br />a. Slab Areas within a minimum of 2 feet each side <br />of accvrdian doors shall be "dead level". <br />b. All other slab areas - Class B. <br />6. Tale ancs for finishes as specified shall be as <br />follows: <br />03300-7 <br />
