8, INTERPRETATION OF THE APPROXIMATE QUANTITIES: The Bidder's attention is <br />called to the fact that any estimate of quantities of work to be done and materials to be <br />furnished under the Specifications as shown on the Bid Schedule, or elsewhere, is approximate <br />only and not guaranteed. The owner does not assume any responsibility that the final <br />quantities shall remain in strict accordance with the estimated quantities, nor shall the <br />Contractor plead misunderstanding or deception because of such estimate of quantities or of <br />the character, location of the work, or other conditions pertaining thereto, <br />9. FAMILIARITY WITH LAWS The Bidder is assumed to be familiar with and shall comply <br />with all Federal, State and Local laws, ordinances, rules, codes, and regulations that may affect <br />the work. Ignorance on the part of the Bidder will in no way relieve him from the <br />responsibility of compliance therewith. All work and materials shall comply with those laws. <br />IV COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION OF WORK: The Contractor will be required to <br />commence work under this Contract within twenty (20) calendar days after the date of receipt <br />by him of the Notice to Proceed, and to complete the work ready for use not more than one <br />hundred twenty (120) calendar days from and after the starting date established in the notice <br />to proceed. The time stated for completion shall include final clean-up of the premises. TIME <br />IS OF THE ESSENCE. Working days are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding <br />Saturday and Sunday and County Holidays. The hours will be From 7 AM to 7 PM, No work <br />shall commence before 7 AM or continue after 7 PM. County Holidays are: New Years Day, <br />Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving <br />Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas clay. Working on these days <br />will not be permitted without prior written permission and approval from the Public Works <br />Director. No Saturday or Sunday work will be permitted except as authorized by the Public <br />Works Director in writing 48 hours in advance. <br />If the Contractor fails to complete the requirements of General Condition G, AWARD OR <br />REJECTION OF BIDS, then additional time in calendar days required to correctly complete <br />the documents will be deducted from the Contract Time in working days specified above. <br />11. INSURANCE - GENE AL: Contractor shall not commence work under this contract until <br />he has obtained all insurance required under this Section and such insurance has been approved <br />by tire County, nor shall the Contractor allow any Subcontractor to commence work on his <br />subcontract until all similar insurance required of the Subcontractor has been so obtained and <br />approved, <br />A. insurance Requirements <br />(1) Worker's Compensation - to meet statutory limits in compliance with the <br />Worker's Compensation Law of Florida. This policy must include Employer <br />Liability with a limit $100,000 for each accident, $500,000 disease (policy <br />limit) and $100,000 disease (each employee). <br />GC -3 <br />
