Submit proposal and <br />request and obtain the County Engineer's approval before pro- <br />ceeding with cut -and -patch of structural work, <br />5.0 SUPPLEMENTAL PROVISIONS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS: 'Where any <br />article of "General Conditions: is supplemented hereby, the <br />provisions of such article shall remain in effect. All <br />supplemental provisions Bhall be considered as added thereto. <br />6.0 For convenience of reference, these Specifications are <br />separated into sections. Such separations shall not operate <br />to make the County Engineer an arbiter to establish. <br />subcontract limits between Contractor and Subcontractors, <br />7. CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SIGN: The Contractor will cause to <br />be erected at the project site a sign identi£y.ing the project <br />as shown on the drawings. The project sign shall be eight <br />(8) feet by four (4) feet, placed in a prominent location as <br />directed by the Engineer and maintained in good conditions <br />until the completion of the project, The sign shall be made <br />of 3/4 inch exterior plywood with edges and supported by <br />posts braces] as required to resist local wind loading. The <br />sign shall be given one prime coat and two coats of semi- <br />gloss exterior white paint. Lettering shall be as directed <br />by the Engineer, and shall include the name of the pro-iert, <br />the owner, the Contractor, the Architect, and the County <br />Engineer. No other signs or advertisements will be allowed <br />to be displayed without the approval of the Engineer. Cost <br />shall be included in Base Bid at the Buildings line entry on <br />the Bid Proposal form, <br />8.0 FIRE SAFETY <br />8.1 No open lima will ue permitted at the project site, <br />8.2 No welding, flame cutting or other operations involving <br />the use of flame arcs or sparking devices will be allowed <br />without adequate protection. All flammable or combustible <br />material will be removed from the immediate working area. if <br />removal is impossible, all flammable or combustible material <br />will be protected with a suitable non-combustible shield Lo <br />prevent sparks, flame or hot metal from reaching the <br />combustible material. The Contractor shall provide the <br />necessary personnel and fire fighting equipment to effec- <br />tively control incipient fires resulting from welding or <br />01010-3 <br />
