' PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 FINAL CLEANING: <br />At closeout time, clean or reclean entire work to <br />normal level for "first class" maintenance/cl.ednincg <br />of building projects of a similar nature. Remove <br />non -permanent protection and labels, polish glass, <br />clean exposed finishes, touch-up minor finish <br />damage, clean or replace filters of mechanical <br />systems, remove debris and broom -clean non -occupied <br />spaces, sanitize plumbing facilities, clean light. <br />fixtures and replace burned-out/dimmed lamps, sweep <br />and wash paved areas, police yards and grounds to <br />the property line, and perform similar cleanup <br />operations needed to produce a "clean'" condition as <br />determined by Architect and Owner's Representative. <br />3.02 PROCEDURES AT SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION: <br />A. Prerequisites: Comply with General. Conditions and <br />complete the following before requesting the Archi- <br />tect's and the County Engineer's inspection of the <br />work, or designated portion thereof, for substantial <br />completion: <br />Complete installation of buildings and equipment to <br />such level as the owner could, if necessary, occupy <br />the facilities. <br />Submit executed warranties, workmanship bonds, <br />maintenance agreements, inspection certificates and <br />similar required documentation for specific units of <br />work, enabling Owner's unrestricted occupancy and <br />use. <br />Complete instruction of Owner's operating personnel, <br />and start-up of systems. <br />Complete final cleaning, and remove temporary <br />facilities and tools. <br />B. Inspection Procedures: Upon completion of Con- <br />tractor's own punch list items and receipt• of <br />Contractor's request for inspection, the Architect <br />and County Engineer will either proceed with inspec- <br />tion or advise Contractor of prerequisites not ful- <br />filled. following initial inspection, the Architect <br />will either prepare certificate of substantial com- <br />pletion, or advise Contractor of work which must be <br />performed prior to issuance of the certificate; and <br />repeat inspection when requested and assured that <br />01700-2 <br />
