do <br />4 <br />SECTION <br />02250 - sOIL POISONING <br />A. <br />Compound application shall be done by an established and <br />certified pest control organization as per Section 815-3.8 <br />of Section 815 of the Minimum Property Standards for 1 & 2 <br />living units, Federal Housing Administration (November <br />1966). <br />H. <br />The Contractor shall furnish the Owner with a written <br />guarantee stating the concentration of the poison util- <br />ized, the rate and the method of application. The <br />guarantee shall be for a period of not less than five (5) <br />years, with the cost for a five (5) year inspection and <br />protection program to be included in the base bid. <br />C. <br />The Contractor shall not begin soil treatment until such <br />time as the subgrade preparation is completed and ready <br />for the vapor barrier installation. <br />D. <br />The below listed chemicals are toxic to plant and animal <br />life and are to be applied, with due caution, only by ex- <br />perienced personnel. Apply to those areas to be treated, <br />one (1) of the following chemicals, at not less than the <br />designated concentration applied in a water emulsion. <br />I. Duraban TC l°s <br />2. Demon TC l$ <br />E. <br />Apply an overall treatment of toxicant, at a rate of one <br />(1) gallon per ten (10) square feet, under the entire area <br />of the building floor slab and to a distance of 5'-0" be- <br />yond the building perimeter where it is abutted by a slab/ <br />walkway or paving. Apply additional toxicant, at a rate <br />of two (2) gallons per lin. ft., to expansion joints and <br />where the floor slab is penetrated by floor drains. <br />***END OF SECTION*** <br />02250-1 <br />
