If a dewatering permit is required, the contractor shalt prepare an application to the <br />District and pay any fee. <br />D. Familiarity witLj,,@Y& <br />The CONTRACTOR is assumed to be familiar with and shall comply with all Federal, State <br />and Local laws, ordinances, rules, codes, and regulations that may affect the work. <br />Ignorance on the part of the CONTRACTOR will in no way relieve him from the <br />responsibility of compliance therewith. All work and materials shall comply with those laws. <br />1. Work shall be performed during regular woricing hours. Regular working hours are <br />defined as Monday through Friday, excluding County Holidays, from 7 AM to 5 PM. <br />2. County Holidays are: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence <br />Day„ Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, 'Friday after Thanksgiving, <br />Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Working on these days will not be permitted <br />without prior written permission and approval from the ENGINEER. <br />3. The CONTRACTOR shall receive no additional compensation for overtime work, <br />i.e., work in excess of eight hours in any one calendar day or 40 hours in any one <br />calendar week, even though such overtime work may be required under <br />emergency conditions and may be ordered by the ENGINEER in writing. <br />4. All costs of inspection and testing performed during overtime work by the <br />CONTRACTOR, which is allowed solely for the convenience of the <br />CONTRACTOR, shall be home by the CONTRACTOR, and a credit given to the <br />County to deduct the costs of all such inspection and testing from any partial <br />payments otherwise dine the CONTRACTOR, <br />5. No work shall commence before 7 AM or continue after 7 PM except in case of <br />emergency upon specific permission of the ENGINEER. <br />It is mutually agreed that no change involving change in cost, either to the OWNER <br />or CONTRACTOR, shall be made except upon written permission of the OWNER. <br />Extra work shall be paid for as set forth in this Paragraph. Omitted work shall be <br />credited against the money due the CONTRACTOR by one of the methods <br />described in this Article. The CONTRACTOR shall make no claim for extra work <br />unless it has been approved by the OWNER in writing and in advance of the work, <br />except that the CONTRACTOR may proceed to meet an emergency condition if the <br />OWNER'S representative is not available. Work required by surface or subsurface <br />conditions, or both, that were foreseen by Bidder at the time of bidding or could <br />have been discovered by test borings or other testing methods, shall not be <br />considered extra work. <br />2. The ENGINEER .hall, in all Lases of dispute, determine the amount or quantity of <br />the several kinds of work which are to be paid for under this Contract, and shall <br />decide all questions relative to the execution of the same, and such estimates and <br />decisions shall be final and binding. <br />SUPPLE'NENTARY CONDYFIONS i. <br />SC - 2 <br />
