40 <br />A. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment, and all <br />operations required to clear and grub the site as shown on the Plans and <br />specified herein. <br />2.. GENERAL <br />A. Clearing and grubbing shall consist of the complete removal and disposal of <br />all trees, brush, logs, stumps, roots, weeds, rubbish, rocks, pavement and <br />structures designated to be removed, concrete and other deleterious material <br />and obstructions resting upon or protruding through the surface of the <br />ground. Stumps, roots 3" and over and similar obstructions shall be <br />removed to a minimum depth of 2 feet below the existing ground. Existing <br />pavement to be removed shall be saw cut at the interface where existing <br />pavement is to remain. All structural items shall be excavated to full depth, <br />completely removed and the excavation backfilled per these specifications. <br />B. The Contractor shall clear and grub the areas described below: <br />1) Within the areas of development. <br />3. DISPOSAL <br />A. BURNING PERMITTED ON SITE <br />1) When permitted by local governing authorities, trees, stumps, <br />brush, weeds and similar natural materials may be burned on site. <br />The Contractor shall dispose of all unburned residue off site, and if <br />required by the Engineer, spread the ash. Material which will not <br />burn or will not burn without air pollution such as asphalt and tires <br />shall be hauled off site for disposal in an approved manner. <br />B . ¢a�S 't" DIS SAL <br />1) When on site burning is not permitted, all material shall be hauled <br />off site by the Contractor for disposal in an approved manner. <br />C. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining and complying with the <br />provisions of all necessary permits. All fees shall be paid by the Contractor, <br />D. No material shall be buried on site. <br />
