dw <br />K. <br />L. <br />M. <br />Finish rolling should be accomplished by use of the- steel wheel <br />roller. <br />Should any irregularities or defects remain in any course after <br />compaction, they should be removed promptly and replaced with new <br />material to provide a uniform texture surface conforming to line and <br />grade. The finished surface shall be such that it will not vary more than <br />one forth inch (114") from the ten foot (10') straight edge applied both <br />parallel and perpendicular to the center line of the pavement. The <br />thickness of the pavement shall be no more than one forth inch (1/4") <br />greater or less than the specified thickness. Correction of deficiencies in <br />pavement thickness will be in strict accordance with those procedures <br />described in Section 330 14.2 of the ;Florida D.O.T. Specifications for <br />Road and Bridge Construction, 1991 Edition. <br />Areas which are inaccessible to a roller (such as adjacent to curbs, <br />gutters, manholes, etc.) shall be compacted by the use of hand tamps, <br />small vibratory tampers, or other satisfactory means. <br />The edges of the wearing surface shall be straight, true, and clean in all <br />cases, and must meet the approval of the Engineer. Should the edges of <br />the wearing surface not meet the approval of the Engineer, they shall <br />be saw cut to a straight, true, clean line by the Contractor at his expense. <br />J-3 <br />
