40 <br />0 <br />r <br />r <br />1) The paint stripes shall be a uniform 4 inches in width and be <br />applied at the wet film rate of 15 Mils, exclusive of the glass <br />I spheres. The road edge stripe shall be applied with the outside <br />{ edge of the stripe at a uniform 4 - G inches from the edge of the <br />finished pavement. Prior to applying the paint the location of <br />parking spaces, centerline and edge stripe shall be adequately <br />marked with chalk, tacks or other suitable means. The <br />equipment Used to apply the paint shall be capable of <br />1' uniformly applying the paint at the specified thickness without <br />k thinning and with well defined edges. The surface must be dry <br />when the paint is applied. <br />f 2) Paint spills, alignment errors, application defects, etc. shall be <br />removed by sand blasting or any other means which will <br />{ remove the paint without harming the pavement. <br />3) No paint shall be applied to the asphalt until three weeks after <br />the asphalt has been laid down. <br />4. TEMPORARY TRAFFIC STRIPING AND MARKING <br />A. When required by the Engineer or other agencies, temporary traffic <br />f striping and marking shall be applied as soon as practical after the <br />I asphalt has been laid. <br />B. Until the temporary traffic striping and marking is applied, the <br />Contractor shall maintain safety along the road improvements using <br />warning signs, traffic cones, emergency lights and other equipment as <br />necessary. <br />k <br />k <br />k 2M-2 <br />
