I-] <br />a <br />SECTION.2M - ROADWAY PAINTING <br />1. DESCRIPTION <br />A. Work under this heading consists of painting traffic stripes and <br />pavement markings. <br />2. TRAFFIC STRIPS AND MARKINGS WITHIN COUNTY RIGHT -QF -WAY <br />A. Thermoplastic traffic stripes and markings shall be used For all work <br />within State and County Rights -of -Way, <br />B. Thermoplastic traffic strips and markings shall be installed in accordance <br />with Section 711 of the Florida D.O.T. Specifications for Road <br />and Bridge Construction, 1991 Edition, and any other applicable <br />D.O.T. regulations or specifications. <br />C. No thermoplastic traffic stripes or markings shall be applied until thirty <br />(30) days minimum after the asphalt has been laid down. <br />3. INTERIOR ROADWAY AND PARKING LOT PAINTING <br />A. GENERAL <br />1) Work tinder this heading consists of painting parking spaces. <br />road centerline stripes, roadway edge stripes, stop bars, handicap <br />parking identifications, and directional markings where indicated <br />on the Plans. Unless otherwise noted on the Plans or herein, the <br />centerline stripes shall be yellow and all other markings shall be <br />white. <br />B. WHITE TRAFFIC PAINT <br />1) White traffic paint shall conform to the requirements of <br />Florida D.O.T. Traffic Paint Code T -t (white) as specified in <br />the Florida D.O.T. Standard_ pecificat'tons for Road and <br />Bridge Construction. 1941. Sectio 9'i1-1'3?. formulated and <br />manufactured from first grade materials and free from defects and <br />imperfections that may adversely affect the finished product. <br />C. YELLOW TRAFFIC PAIN <br />1) Yellow traffic paint shall conform to requirements of Florida <br />D.O.T. Traffic Paint Code T-2 (Yellow) as specified in the <br />FIorida D.O.T. Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge <br />Construction, 1991, Section 971-12.3. <br />D. GLASS BEADS <br />1} The stripe along the edge of the roads shall have durable <br />reflective glass spheres applied at the rate of six pounds per gallon 1.., <br />of paint while the paint is still tacky enough for them to adhere at <br />that rate. <br />E.
