SCOPE <br />A. <br />r The work to be performed under this item shall include furnishing <br />and installing water service tubing as specified by the Engineer and as <br />shown on the Plans. <br />B . MUMM <br />Standards applicable in this Specification shall be: <br />1) American Water Works Association (AWWA) <br />a. AWWA 0901-88 - Polyethylene (PE) Pressure Pipe <br />and tubing, 112 in. through 3 in., for Water Service. <br />2) American Society of Testing and Material (ASTM) <br />` a. ASTM D2239 - Standard Specification for <br />Polyethylene (PE) Plastic Pipe (SIDR-PR) based on Controlled <br />Inside Diameter. <br />t <br />b. ASTM D2737 - Standard Specification for <br />Polyethylene (PE) Plastic Tubing. <br />1 _ <br />C. ASTM D2774 Standard Recommended <br />Practice for Underground. Installation of Thermoplastic Pipe <br />Materials. <br />d. ASTM D3350 - Standard Specification • of <br />gPolyethylene Plastic Pipe and Pitting Material. <br />L C. Sub[piltals <br />1) Shop Drawings - Prior to any fabrication or insmilation work. <br />the Contractor shall furnish to the Engineer, for review and <br />approval five (5) sets of shop drawings for the following items. <br />All drawings shall be reviewed, approved and stamped by the <br />Contractor prior to submission to the Engineer. <br />a. Water Service Pipe <br />LI b. Tobe Stiffeners <br />2. MATERIALS <br />A. Polvrthvlene Tubing Inches in Diamet r and_Smaller <br />Polyethylene tubing shall be manufactured in accordance with <br />AWWA 0901-88 of PE -3408 extrusion compound, cell classification. <br />PE334434C polyethylene plastic material as specified in ASTM D3350. <br />Polyethylene plastic pipe shall conform to the following: <br />a. Tubing shall have a working pressure of 200 psi at 73.4o F. <br />b. Tubing interior surfaces shall be glass smooth, and shall be <br />free from bumps and irregularities.
