40 <br />0 <br />shall be cured by placing a berm of moist earth against them or by any <br />of the methods described below, for the remainder of the 7 day curing <br />period. <br />1) Wet Burlap Method: Burlap shall be placed over the entire <br />exposed surface of the concrete with sufficient extension beyond <br />each side to insure complete coverage. Adjacent strips shall <br />be overlapped a minimum of six inches. The burlap shall be <br />held securely in place such that it will be in continuous contact <br />with the concrete at all times and no eatth shall be permitted <br />between the burlap surfaces at laps or between the burlap and <br />the concrete. The burlap shall be kept thoroughly wet throughout <br />the curing period. <br />2) Membrane Curing Method: Clear membrane curing compound <br />or white -pigmented curing compound shall be applied by hand <br />sprayer in a single -coat continuous film at a uniform coverage <br />of at least one gallon to each 200 square feet, Any cracks, <br />checks or other defects appearing in the coating shall be <br />recoated immediately. The curing compound shall be thoroughly <br />agitated in the drum prior to application, and during <br />application as necessary to prevent settlement of the pigment. <br />3) Polyethylene Sheeting Method: Polyethylene sheeting shall be <br />placed over the entire exposed surface of the concrete, with <br />sufficient extension beyond each side to insure complete <br />coverage. Adjacent strips shall be overlapped a minimum of'six <br />inches. The sheeting shall be held securely in place such that it <br />will be in continuous contact with the concrete at all times. <br />L <br />L <br />3A-3 iN <br />
