• <br />i <br />In lieu ofthe Performance and Payment Bontds, the CONTRACTOR may furnish an alternative form <br />of security in the fotnt of cash, money order, certified check, cashier's check, irrevocable letter of <br />credit ora security as fisted in Part tl of F.S. C7iapter 525. Any such alternative form of security shall <br />i be for the same purposes, and be for the same amount and subject to the same conditions as those <br />applicable to the bond otherwise required. The determination of the value of an alternative form of <br />security shall be made by the OWNER. Such bonds shall continue in effect for one (1) year after <br />R completion and acceptance of the work <br />CONTIiACTOR's Liability Insurance: <br />5.3 Insurance - General: CONTRACTOR shall not commence work under this contract until lie has <br />obtained all insurance te<luired under this Section and such 'insurance has been approved by the <br />OWNER, nor shall the CONTRACTOR allow any Subcontractor to commence work on his <br />subcontract until all similar insurance required of the Subcontractor has been so obtained and <br />approved. All such insurance shall remain un effeCL until final payment and at all time thereafter when <br />CONTRACTOR may be correcting, removing or replacing defective Work in accordance with <br />paragraph 13.12. <br />i <br />5.3.1 Insurance Requirements: <br />i <br />5.3.1.1 Worker's Compensation: To meet statutory limits in compliance with the Worker's <br />Compensation Law of Florida- This policy must include Employer Liability with a <br />limit $100,000 for each accident, $500,000 disease (policy limit) and $100,000 <br />disease (each employee). Such, policy shall include a waiver of subrogation as against <br />OWNER and ENGINEER on account of injury sustained by an employee(s) of the <br />CONTRACTOR. <br />5.3.3.2 Commercial General Liability Coverage shall provide minimum Limits of liability of <br />$1,000,000 per occurrence Combined Single Unit for Bodily Injury and Property <br />Damage. This shall include coverage for: <br />Premises/Operations <br />' Products/Conipleted Operations <br />Contractual Liability <br />Independent Contractors <br />5-3.1.3 Business Auto Liability: Coverage shall provide minimum limits of liability of <br />51,000,000 per occurrence Combined Single Limit for Bodily Injury and Property <br />Damage. This shall include coverage for: <br />Owner Autos <br />Hired Autos <br />Non -Owned Autos <br />5.3.1.4 CONTRACTOR's Property Insurance: CONTRACTOR shall purchase and maintain <br />property insurance upon the Work at die site to the full insurable value thereof <br />(subject to such deductible amounts as may be provided in the Supplementary <br />Conditions or required by law). This insurance shall include the interests of <br />OWNER, CONTRACTOR and Suboantractors in the Work, shall insure against the <br />perils of fire, lightning and extended coverage, shall include "all risk" insurance for <br />physical loss and damage including theft, vandalism acid malicious mischief, collapse <br />and water damage, and such other perils as may be provided in the Supplementary <br />Conditions, acrd shall include damages, losses and expenses arising out of our <br />resulting from any insured loss or incurred in the repair or replacement of any insured <br />property (including fees and charges of engineers, architects, attorneys and other <br />GENERAL CONDITIONS <br />GC -- 9 <br />
