Davis, P. <br />Public Works Director <br />Joint Participation Agreement Between <br />Florida Department of Transportation and <br />Indian River County for Five Lane Widening Improvements to <br />16th Street/17th Street Between a Point 500' West of Hoc ce-e-e4AAA-e- <br />111111:AveriEre-,and U.S. 1 <br />DATE: August 14, 1996 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Florida Department of Transportation is beginning the Project Development and <br />Environmental Study Phase for the five (5) lane widening improvements to 16th Street <br />between U.S. 1 and just west of 14th Avenue. It is a State requirement on local roadways <br />(not under State jurisdiction) that the local government must fund 12.5% of the cost of the <br />project The State and Federal governments fund the remaining 87.5% of the cost. The <br />attached Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) between the Florida Department of <br />Transportation and Indian River County provides for this joint project funding. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The estimated _cost of the Project Development and Environmental Study is $350,000.00. <br />The County's 12.5% share is $43,750.00. After the Project Development and <br />Environmental Study is complete, the County would also be required to fund a similar <br />share for engineering, construction, etc. The alternatives presented are as follows: <br />62 <br />AUGUST 20, 1996 <br />BOC <br />98 faC.€ 851. <br />
