BOOK 98 F'nE 880 <br />2. Wording in Article 16, Hours, incorporates into the new <br />agreement the wording agreed to in an amendment dated March <br />28, 1995. <br />3. Changes in wording regarding disability leave and annual leave <br />reflect current practice. <br />Re: Teamsters Contract <br />1. Employees who do not answer pages when on call will be subject <br />to disciplinary action and will not receive payment for the <br />designated standby period. <br />2. Employees will be required to wear safety -toed boots and will <br />be reimbursed $30 annually for the boots. Employees will be <br />subject to disciplinary action for failure to follow safety <br />regulations and failure to use safety equipment. <br />3. Wording in Article 16, Hours of Work, incorporates into the new <br />agreement the wording agreed to in an amendment dated November <br />14, 1995. <br />4. The standby pay is increased from one half hour per day to one <br />hour per day. <br />5. Call back pay is changed from a minimum of one hour to a <br />minimum of two hours. <br />6. Wording changes in the Temporary Assignment and Probationary <br />Period articles clarify specified periods of time. <br />7. The Grievance Procedure wording is revised and provides for an <br />initial discussion of the problem with the grievant and his/her <br />supervisor. Personnel Director rather than County <br />Administrator will hear the grievance at Step 3. <br />8. Employees are entitled to Workers Compensation in accordance <br />with the laws of the State of Florida, so the Workers <br />Compensation article is removed from the contract. <br />9. Wording in Article 23, Leaves of Absence, concerning <br />Bereavement Leave, incorporates into the new agreement the <br />wording agreed to in an amendment dated November 14, 1995. <br />10. Employees required to wear uniforms shall pay $1 per week which <br />is the current cost. <br />11. The agreement will be in effect for two years until September <br />30, 1998. It provides for a 3% general increase on October 1, <br />1996 and a 3% increase on October 1, 1997. <br />For the convenience of the Board, only the revised sections of each <br />agreement are attached. Strike overs represent deletions of <br />wording and underlining represents additions of wording. A full <br />copy of each agreement that incorporates these changes is available <br />with Alice White. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The negotiating team for the County recommends execution of all <br />three of these agreements to be effective October 1, 1996. <br />61 <br />AUGUST 20, 1996 <br />
