Keating, AICP/Wk' <br />Community Development Director <br />DATE: August 16, 1996 <br />NOICE OF PUBLIC HENING <br />Notice of hearing to consider submittal of <br />an application for a 49 USC Ch. 53, Section <br />5307 (formerly Section 9 of the Federal <br />Transit Act) Grant for Mass Transit Capital <br />and Operating Assistance. <br />The Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners is considering the submittal <br />of a 49 USC Ch. 53, Section 53071formerly <br />Section 9 of the Federal Transit Act) grant <br />application. As proposed, the application <br />requests a grant of $754,133 in federal <br />funds. These funds will be passed through <br />to the designated Community Transporta- <br />tion Coordinator and matched by $311,243 <br />in local and state funds. The funds will be <br />used to continue the Community Coach <br />(modified fixed route) program and to in- <br />crease the Community Transportation Coor- <br />dinator's demand responsive transportation <br />program. Specifically, funds will be used to: <br />replace and add vehicles <br />• purchase bus signs and bus stop shel- <br />ters <br />• construct a bus washing system <br />• maintain operations of current service <br />A public hearing at which parties in inter- <br />est and citizens shall have an opportumly to <br />be heard will be held by the Board of <br />County Commissioners in the County Com- <br />mission Chambers of the Indian River <br />County Administration Building located at <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida on <br />Tuesday, August 27, 1996 at 9:05 AM. <br />Arryone who may wish to appeal any de- <br />cision which may be made at this meeting <br />will need to ensure that a verbatim record <br />of the proceedings is made, which includes <br />testimony and evidence upon which the ap- <br />peal will be based. <br />Anyone who needs a special accommo- <br />dationfor this meeting must contact the <br />county's Americans with Disabilities Act <br />(ADA) Coordinator at 567-8000 extension <br />223 at least 48 hours in advance of meet - <br />Indian River County <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Bv:-s- Fran B.
