4W <br />40 <br />FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS <br />INTERAGENCY/PUBLIC WORKS AGREEMENT <br />This agreement made and entered into this 30th day of June <br />2000, by and between the State of Florida Department of <br />Corrections's Indian River Correctional Institution, hereinafter <br />referred to as Corrections, and Indian River Board of County <br />Commissioners, hereinafter to as the Agency, is done so in <br />accordance with Chapter s. 946.40 F.S., and Rules of the <br />Department of Corrections, Chapter s. 33-601.201, F.A.C., Inmate <br />Work Program and s. 33-601.202, F.A.C., Use of Inmates in Public <br />Works The duration of this a reement is from _ 07/01/00 to <br />06/30/01 mo dy/yr <br />mo/dy yr <br />Work performed under this local agreement is determined to be <br />value added or cost savings as defined in the Community work Squad <br />Manual. <br />Value Added X Cost Savings <br />I. <br />Corrections agrees to ,provide for those items so indicated with a <br />check ( X ) to the left of each appropriate number. All other <br />items are to be marked "N/A" to the left of the number. <br />x 1. Screen the inmates for the work to be performed to <br />provide a reasonable basis to believe that none present <br />a danger to property or persons. <br />x 2. Provide up to seven inmates each workday for the period <br />of the a reement, Medium custody-.( ); minimum <br />custody ( ); both ( xx ). *Refer to Section II (19), <br />x 3. Provide one vehicle and one Correctional officer <br />each workday to transport inmates assigned to the <br />Agency and to provide supervision as agreed herein. <br />x 4. Provide food and drinks for inmate lunches. <br />x 5. Be responsible for the apprehension of an escapee and <br />handling of problem inmates. Provide transportation <br />from the work site to the correctional facility for <br />inmates who refuse tc- work, becrimr_ unable to work, or <br />cause a disruption in the work schedule. <br />X 6. Be responsible for administering all disciplinary <br />action taken against an inmate for infractions <br />committed while under the supervision of the Agency. <br />
