• <br />a <br />l <br />601 series of volatile organic compounds <br />(VOCs) <br />642 series of V.O.C.'s <br />610 polycyclic aromatics <br />608 pesticides/P.C.B. <br />cyanides <br />fluorides <br />inorganics <br />nitrates <br />nitrites <br />phosphates <br />sulfates <br />The Indian River County Sheriff's Office crime lab and water <br />treatment plants throughout the county may also be called <br />upon to provide laboratory and analytical support as needed. <br />The Department of Environmental Regulation (DER) has <br />arranged with private response contractors located <br />throughout Florida to provide response personnel and <br />equipment, including mobile analytical laboratories for major <br />chemical releases which occur in inland areas of the state. <br />The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has similar <br />arrangements with private response contractors located <br />throughout Florida, to provide response personnel and <br />equipment, including mobile laboratories for major chemical <br />releases which occur in coastal and navigable waters. <br />The Department of Health/Rehabilitative Services (DHHS) <br />has public health laboratories in Jacksonville, Miami, <br />Orlando, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Tampa and West Palm <br />Beach, Florida. The Laboratories will provide diagnostic, <br />reference, emergency and research public health laboratory <br />services to county hospitals, county public health units, <br />DHRS program components, physicians, hospitals and <br />private laboratories. <br />Facilities responsible for the release often have the <br />specialized equipment for monitoring purposes. Air, water <br />and soil samples may be collected and taken to the facility's <br />laboratory for analysis with sophisticated analytical <br />instruments. <br />Indian River County Emergency Pian for Hazardous Materials Page 103 <br />
