• <br />C> <br />CI <br />10.4.1 Evacuation routes <br />Evacuation routes from each facility are identified in the <br />facility specific hazardous analysis found in Appendix B. <br />10.4.2 Evacuation for Special bleeds <br />The Indian River County Department of Emergency Services <br />will keep a current listing of all special needs evacuees. <br />During an evacuation this fist will be utilized by the <br />Department of Emergency Services to inform people with <br />special needs of the evacuation and dispatch appropriate <br />transportation as needed. In Indian River County, special <br />needs evacuees who are not evacuated by private vehicles <br />will be evacuated either by ambulance, county -owned vans <br />and/or county -owned transportation buses with wheelchair <br />lifts. An alternate means will be by school buses, if <br />available. <br />10.4.3 Schools <br />If evacuation is ordered while school is in session, all school <br />children located within the vulnerable zone will be placed on <br />school buses and taken to pickup areas to be designated. <br />All children will remain under the control of school <br />personnel until turned over to their parents at some point in <br />the evacuation chain. School ,personnel will provide <br />supervision of the children on buses and during the waiting <br />period. At the pickup point, children will be monitored and <br />decontaminated if necessary. School personnel will <br />maintain a listing of the number of children picked up, and <br />report this information every 30 minutes to the ESI= //5 <br />(information and Planning) at the county EDC. Once the <br />students are safe, the school buses may be directed to pick <br />up residents who are without transportation. Any school <br />children not picked up within six hours after they have <br />arrived at the reception center will be taken to shelter, and <br />will remain under the supervision of county School District <br />personnel. <br />Indian River County Emergency Plan for Hazardous Materials Page 119 <br />
