E--] <br />f <br />40 <br />Isolating and establishing command over the <br />area where evacuation, public safety, traffic <br />control and protection of property are of <br />concern. <br />Notifying the Indian River County Department <br />of Emergency Services, Fire Division; which <br />has jurisdiction of the occurrence of a <br />hazardous materials release and request that <br />appropriate response be initiated. <br />Providing additional resources and support as <br />necessary. <br />Provision of traffic control along evacuation <br />routes and crowd control at reception centers <br />and sheiters. <br />Securing evacuation areas until residents are <br />allowed to return to their homes. <br />2,2.1 1 Other County and Municipal Agencies <br />Other county and municipal agencies may be required to <br />provide equipment, personnel and services to support <br />emergency operations. <br />2.3 STATE GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />2.3.1 Governor <br />Under the provisions of Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, the <br />Governor is ultimately responsible for protecting the <br />population of the State from the dangers created by <br />emergencies which are beyond the capabilities of local <br />governments or which are multi -jurisdictional in nature. <br />He/she will provide that protection through the assignment <br />of appropriate state resources and agencies, Any or all of <br />the above responsibilities are implemented by: <br />Indian River County Emergency Pian for Hazardous Materials Page 58 <br />
