The motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Adams, Vice Chairman Flescher, Commissioner Earman, <br />Commissioner Moss, and Commissioner Loar <br />15.8.5. 24-0212 Request for a Special Call Meeting for the Solid Waste and Recyclables <br />Collection Services (RFP #2024020) <br />Recommended Action: As per the recommendations listed on the staff report <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Solid Waste Disposal District Managing Director Himanshu Mehta requested the <br />Solid Waste Disposal District (S)WDD) Board approve a Special Call Meeting, <br />which would be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the County <br />Commission Chambers. He stated the purpose of holding this meeting was to <br />provide the following information: 1) to provide a summary of the results of the <br />RFP Number 2024024 selection committee; 2) to obtain input and <br />recommendations from the selection committee; 3) To obtain public input <br />regarding the four options for providing garbage, yard waste and bulk services in <br />Indian River County's unincorporated areas; and 4) to obtain the SWDD Board's <br />decision on which of the four options for the Solid Waste and Recyclables <br />Collection Services Franchise they wished to pursue.
