PROCLAMATIONS and PRESENTATIONS <br />5.A. 24-0104 Proclamation for Prevention of Child Abuse Month, April 2024 <br />Recommended Action: Read & Present <br />Attachments: Proclamation <br />Joseph Walsh, Region 9 Vice President of The Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast, <br />expressed his gratitude to the Board for acknowledging April as the Prevention of <br />Child Abuse Month. He mentioned that preventing child abuse had been the national <br />project of the Exchange Club since 1979. Mr. Walsh stated that the organization had <br />established four child abuse prevention centers in Florida, and they were working on a <br />fifth. These centers provided a program called Parenting Matters, which focused on <br />keeping families together, preventing abuse, and ensuring that children do not end up <br />in foster care. <br />Read and presented by Commissioner Earman <br />5.
