6706-050 <br />4. Shop Drawings and Sampl es: <br />a. Receive a nd record d ate of receipt of Shop Drawings and samples, <br />receive sa mples w hic h are furnish ed at the site by CONTRACTOR, and <br />notify ENGINEER of their avail ability for examination. <br />b. Advise ENGINEER and CONTRACTOR o r his superintendent immed i at ely <br />of the commencement of any Work requiring a Shop Drawing or sampl e <br />submission If the submission has not been approved by the ENGINEER. <br />5. Review of Work, Rejection of Defective Work, Inspections and Tests: <br />a. Conduct on-site observations of the Work In progress to assist ENGINEER <br />In determining If the Work Is proceedinl) In accord ance w ith the Contract <br />Doc uments a nd that completed Work will conform to the Contra ct <br />Documents. <br />b. Report to ENGINEER whenever he believes t h at any Work is <br />unsatis f actory, faulty or defective or d oes not conform to the Contract <br />Documents, or does not meet the requi rements o f any Ins pections, tests <br />or approval required to be made or has been damaged prior to final <br />payment; a nd advise ENGINEER when he believes Work should be <br />corrected or reject ed or shoul d be uncovered for observation, or requires <br />speci al testing, inspection or approval., <br />c. Verity that tests, equipment a nd systems st artups and operating and <br />m ainte n ance Instructions a re conducted as required by the Contract <br />Documents and i n presence of the reqt:ired personnel, and that <br />CONTRACTOR maintains adequate rec'Jrds thereof; observe, record and <br />report to ENGINEER appropriate d etails relative to t he t est procedures and <br />startups. <br />d. Accompany visiting inspectors representing public or oth er agencies <br />having jurisdi ction over t he Project, record the outcome of these <br />inspections and report to ENGINEER. • <br />6. Interpretation of Contract Documents: Transmit to CONTRACTOR <br />e ngineer's c l arifications and lnter pretati on n of the Contract Documents. <br />7.
