Mc , P <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PR INFER <br />BY: DEP F ILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: SOUTH COUNTY REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT <br />WASTEWATER CONNECTIONS(DOMESTIC/SKID CLEANING) <br />BACKGROUND <br />In 1993, the County designed a wastewater treatment facility to be <br />located on the site of the South County R.O. Plant, which was <br />subsequently abandoned with the purchase of the General Development <br />Utilities Wastewater System. As part of the original project, both <br />the domestic and skid cleaning wastewater flows were to be <br />connected to the County's wastewater system. With the completion <br />of the South County Wastewater Repump Facility at the South County <br />R.O. Plant, we now need to proceed with these connections. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The cost associated with these connections are as follows: <br />Catectory I <br />1. Construction (complete) $48,996.00 <br />2. Contingency of 20% $ 9,799.30 <br />3. Engineering, permitting, $ 3,500.00 <br />etc. <br />Total $62.295.30 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the entire project as <br />outlined above. Staff requests the Board to authorize the <br />following: <br />1. Acquire three quotes for the construction of the above - <br />referenced items and enter into a contract for <br />construction of same. <br />2. The purchase of materials for construction as outlined - <br />above of the project utilizing Davis Meters (the County's <br />contracted supplier) and ABS Pumps for pumps and* fiber <br />glass lift station through the use of purchase orders. <br />Prices not to exceed outlined above. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the project and authorized staff to (1) acquire 3 <br />quotes for construction of the items and enter into <br />a contract for same, and (2) purchase the necessary <br />materials through Davis Meters and ABS Pumps; all at <br />a not -to -exceed price of $62,295.30, as recommended <br />by staff. <br />SEPTEMBER 17, 1996 42 <br />
