40 <br />40 <br />4D <br />FINAL REPORT <br />SHELTER EVALUATIONS for THE S'T'ATE OF FLORIDA <br />ID No.: 217 <br />Survey Date: December, 4 1998 <br />Facility ;dame: Vero Beach School (Building 0) <br />Address: 1707 16th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, 32960 <br />Coordinates: <br />Latitude: N 27°45'30" <br />Longitude: W 80°30'44" <br />Discussion: <br />Vero Beach High School is located on 16th Street approximately 112 mile cast of U.S. 1. Under the <br />direction of Indian River Department of Emergency Management, building #1 was evaluated as a possible <br />hurricane evacuation shelter. <br />Flood and Hazmat. Considerations <br />The campus is located in a Zone 'X' area according to Flood Insurance Rate Map, panel 158 of 169, Map <br />No.12061CO158 E, with an effective date of May 4, 1989. Evidence of flooding or ponding was not <br />apparent. <br />The lfES building is within the Vulnerability Ione of two Section 302 facilities that have a low release <br />potential in a hurricane event. <br />The campus is not located within a ten mil-- Emergency Planning Zone of a nuclear facility. <br />
