under the categories of preferred, and marginal. <br />Preferred characteristics of this facility include: <br />« The building and its access road arc located outside the Category 5 stone surge in utndation. <br />• The building and its access road are located outside the 540 -year floodplain Gone X). <br />• A clearly defined, continuous loadpath from roof to foundation is present. <br />• The building is in good condition with no apparent signs of deterioration. <br />No evidence of degradation is present on roof <br />An Emergency Standby Power Generator exists on site. <br />Marginal characteristics of this facility include: <br />• There is limited exposure to large and small wind-borne debris. <br />• No verification of wind parameters used in the 1981 design but no apparent flaws were noted. <br />• The building has a flat, Iightweight roof system. <br />• The buildings' exterior walls are constructed of reinforced masonry. <br />• Minimal hazards within lay -down range of building. . <br />• The building is within the Vulnerability Zone gf two Section 302 facilities but with low release <br />potential. <br />Retrofit Recommendation: <br />Install shutters or other protective systems on unprotected systems windows to exterior doors to <br />meet the SBC Standard SSTs D 12-94 of Dade County version of the 'South Florida Building Cade <br />(Section 2314.1, 2314.5 and 1-2314.4). <br />irto (Please note that wWlc these minor retrofit recommendations will enhance the integrity or shelter <br />space evaluated they will not increase potential usable shelter square footage.) <br />• 'Remove potential lay -down hazards. <br />41• Remove potential debris hazards. <br />
