Staff further recommends that the Board of County <br />Commissioners authorize the Chairman to execute the necessary <br />documents to obtain funds from HRS in the amount of $52,025.52 and <br />authorize budget amendments as required to receive and expend the <br />grant funds. <br />In order to comply with the requirements of the Grant, staff is <br />seeking authorization for the establishment of a unique accounting <br />code designator for all County Awards Grant deposits, <br />disbursements, interest accrual, and rollover of funds as they are <br />required to be maintained in a separate fund or account for <br />inspection by the State EMS Monitoring and Compliange°Unit. <br />Chairman Adams advised that a correction was made to the <br />proposed resolution to reflect that it is a resolution of the Board <br />of County Commissioners and not of the Emergency Services District <br />Board. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution No. 96-122 authorizing the application <br />for funding County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) <br />grant awards to be submitted to the State of Florida <br />Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services and <br />other recommendations as set forth in the <br />memorandum. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-122 <br />A RESOLUTION OF. THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDING COUNTY <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) GRANT AWARDS <br />TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA <br />DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE <br />SERVICES. <br />WHEREAS, The Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative <br />Services has announced that applications for funding County <br />Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Grant awards are now being <br />accepted and a grant application has been prepared for Indian River <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, an application for grant funds for fiscal year 1996- <br />97 has been prepared by the County; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COM- <br />MISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Chairman is <br />authorized to sign and execute the application for EMS grant funds <br />certifying that monies from the EMS Grant Program For Counties will <br />improve and expand the County's pre -hospital EMS system and that <br />the funds will not be used to supplant existing County EMS budget <br />allocations. <br />38 �c7 t 1`' U <br />�BOOrK P� yE <br />September 24, 1996 <br />
