40 <br />410 <br />40 <br />40 <br />ARTICLE 15 <br />SAFETY AND HEALTH <br />15.01 The County and the Union agree to cooperate to the fullest extent in the <br />promotion of safe work practices. <br />15.02 It is recognized and agreed by the County and the Union that the County <br />will provide new and improved safety equipment and to utilize modern <br />technology and methods to meet the objectives and functions of the <br />Department within budgetary limitations. The employer agrees to <br />continue maintaining maintenance logs and other records and to perform <br />tests to ensure that presently used vehicles are operationally safe. <br />15.03 The Union Safety Committee and EMS Chief of designee may meet at the <br />request of either party to discuss new safety methods, equipment, and <br />technology. <br />15.04 The Employer agrees to comply with stiction 112.18, Florida Statutes <br />(special provisions relative to disability) and Section 112.181, Florida <br />Statutes (special provisions relative to certain communicable diseases). <br />15.05 The Union and the County agree to the concept of a smoke free <br />Department. Towards that end there shall be no smoking or use of <br />tobacco products allowed in any area of the emergency services stations <br />
